Yeah, yeah, ok, but if you ask Saint Peter who he uses to Guard Heavens Gate, It's us good ol' U.S. Marines. So I would say that speaks for itself!

Funny...
Once upon a time there was this Sailor, sitting under an elm tree with a brew, who was supervising two "grunts" (an Army Spec 4 and Marine LCpl) digging their three fighting holes.
The Army guy asked the Marine, "hey, buddy, why are we sweating under this hot sun digging while that Sailor is up there in the shade sipping suds?
"I dunno," the 'Jarhead' answered, "I think I'll go ask him."
So out he popped from digging and asked the Sailor.
"Well, Billy Bob," the Sailor replied, "it has to do with intelligence.
"Intelligence? What's that?" the Marine asked.
"Well you see my hand here on this tree," the Sailor said. "I want you to hit it has hard as you can!"
So the Marine rared back and swung with all his might but, of course, the Sailor moved his hand at the last second causing the Marine to crash his fist into the tree OUCH!
"Now get back in your hole and finish!" the Sailor ordered.
When the Marine went back, his grunt buddy asked him what happened.
"I don't want to talk about it!" the Marine replied.
"Oh, come on, I saw the two of you up there...what happened?"
At that moment an idea came to the mind of the Jarhead.
"Well-l-l-l, it's got something to do with intelligence," he grinned at the Army Spec. 4.
"Intelligence? What's that?"
The Marine put his hand squarely in front of his face and asked "See my hand?
with my luck...I'm pulling guard duty from 0000-0400!

Watches are counted in eons.
Those tours walking guard duty around the Armories at Camp LeJeune in February seemed like eons. They were enough to induce requests for WestPac duty in 1970.
After a year in Iraq near Al Hillah, this Ranger was once again remindered that the United States Marine Corps is truly the finest service in the military.

Semper Fi, my friend.
