The Tet offensive had about 75,000 NV troops attacking in various spots. About 50,000 NV troops died in the offensive, It was a total defeat for the NV side. Nearly wiped out their army.

Media distortion did the rest. CBS said we lost so we left Vietnam. Then another 2,000,000 citizens died in SE Asia as the communists took over. Read Gen. Giap's book if you want the facts.

So yes the media may be trying to make it look like Tet, a single car bomb is a big story for 24 hours for our beloved media, but the problem is the scale is way off. However if you don't have any historical reference points to go by, you could easily be misled in to believing anything. It's what the media does best today, distort and fabricate reality. Just ask this Moore guy.
