Arizona Democrats file challenge to Nader

By JACQUES BILLEAUD Associated Press Writer

June 23, 2004, 6:28 PM EDT

PHOENIX -- Two Arizona voters on Wednesday filed the first Democratic challenge to independent Ralph Nader's bid to get on a state's November presidential ballot.

The Democrats alleged that more than 70 percent of the 21,500 petition signatures recently filed for Nader are invalid, the Arizona Democratic Party said. Nader, a Winsted, Conn., native, needs 14,694 valid signatures to get on Arizona's ballot.

Democrats Dorothy Schultz and Betty Elizabeth Hughes also alleged in the complaint that some of those who circulated petitions for Nader didn't meet residency requirements and other qualifications, the party said. Several are prohibited from gathering signatures because they are convicted felons, according to the party.

I feel a case of "disenfranchisement" coming on big time.

Anyone here know a good lawyer?

The RATS are trying to knock off Nader (Syrian) and Camejo (Hispanic) from the ballot. The RATS are disenfranchising the voting rights of minorities! This is racist!

Well ACT can use felons to assist in their voter registration efforts and obtain info but Nader can't use felons to obtain signatures to get on the ballot....

Interesting

A Democratic group crucial to John Kerry's presidential campaign has paid felons some convicted of sex offenses, assault and burglary to conduct door-to-door voter registration drives in at least three election swing states.

So now the RATS insist on the law being followed. Last year, AZ RATS called AZ GOP demands for voter ID to be unfair and racist. RATS also regard poll watchers monitoring fraud to be intimidation. Unbelieveable double standard.

According to your link, it is legal in AZ for felons to register voters.

If anything happened to the residents, you can bet the media will blame the GOP for not supporting stronger gun control laws.

These democrats will be throwing themselves in jail in order to get Nader out.

They're pathetic.

Only if one votes Republican or any other third party.

So long as one votes democrat, anything goes.

We have the dead voting democrat. We have the felons voting democrat. We have the illegal aliens voting democrat. We have the animals voting democrat.

Like the man told the Judge: "The fight started when he hit me back."

So long as one votes democrat, everything is o.k.

It is only if one votes for the other party that the trouble starts.

This is total BS. I can't count how many petition's I've circulated, and nowhere over my signature did I have to certify that I'm not a felon. In fact, I don't even have to be a registered voter.

Oh, yeah...I live in AZ.

I heard they were upset, also, that a number of Republicans had signed the Nader petitions. ROFL

The amazing thing was listening to Kerry's righteous indignation today after making a big deal to return to the Senate to cast a vote, only to have the Republicans block the vote.

Kerry blamed the Republicans for blocking democracy, all while his supporters are preventing a legitimate candidate from getting on the ballot in the first of what will be many states.

I thought felons, the dead, illegals were a major component of the Democrat constituency. Vas gibs?

The DemonRATs can't abide anyone else daring to take their core constituency away from them.

I'm sure they're upset because Nader's imported felons support the 2nd amendment. ;')
Felons Paid in Voter Registration Drive
Felons Paid in Democratic Voter Registration Drive
Shoe's on the other foot, good for the goose good for the gander, etc.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
