However, this charism of infallibility does not necessarily extend to the Popes teaching on other issues, such as economics. With regard to the things of the world, the Holy See is entirely capable of error (as is any other organization of human beings).
My point: when a given Pope writes an encyclical on an issue of secular import, he is entirely capable of being wrong about whatever secular issues (e.g. astronomy, economics, etc.) might be brought up in his text. However, as believers we may rest assured that his teachings on issues of faith and morality in a given encyclical no matter what its topic might be are always going to be true, sound, and orthodox in nature.
