A friend of mine who helped to teach the Flying Tigers ended up later flying the Hump over Burma.
When they set up the airfield, the Japanese made life misearable for them.
Harry said these little guys came in. Each night they went out on patrol with their funny little knives. The day after, there was less of a problem from the Japanese. After a few weeks, the air base had a safe perimeter.
