Had a nephew-in-law lecturing me last week about what he said were 10,000 civilian deaths in Iraq since the inception of the liberation. He laughed at the phrase "collateral damage" as a humorous euphemism.
I didn't argue. I just said, "Bombing Hiroshima was the right thing to do."
He shut up.
I have some ultra-leftist-pacifist relatives too.
They almost went into appoplexy when I stated that some killing is moral.
I follow that up with the question that if their child is being mugged, should I show up with a protest sign ?
