You may remember Morrissey from his comments after Reagan's death a few weeks ago - that he "wished it was Bush instead." Payback's a bitch, buddy.
All of these guys fall in with the anti-Bush, dirty unshaven hippie crowd. Needless to say, this makes me a pretty happy guy.

Morrissey, Sonic Youth, P.J. Harvey and the Flaming Lips HA! This is their "exciting lineup"?
When I went to Lollapalooza in 1993, it was Rage Against the Machine, Primus, Arrested Development, Fishbone, Tool, and Alice in Chains.

Err America is a failure, Moores film is on less than 500 screens, and the anti-war lefties can't sell out the mens room.

The tour would've featured Morrissey (search), Sonic Youth, P.J. Harvey (search) and the Flaming Lips, among others.Quite a line-up! They would've been fine if they scaled this one back to 500-seat venues.

This tour failed for the same reason the record companies are having problems (and blaming music theft on the internet) - crappy music.
Top 40 radio stations are playing too many ads and playing the same damn songs day in and day out, both country and pop/rock.
Who wants to pay to hear a bunch of bands that sound alike?

I don't get it - did the tour organizers think that the politics would help? These are second-tier bands at best. I'll overlook politics to hear good music - U2, for example - but I won't overlook crappy music for politics, and I really doubt that a lot of fans will.

Yeah...and they do not even pretend to sing anymore...they whine in unison! It is telling that over-the-hill Ozzy is a top act. At least he tries to sing even though it sometimes is with his stupid daughter!

That was an awesome lineup. However, I would pay to see Flaming Lips.

Lollapalooza is about "alternative", Seattle-style grunge/metal/punk. That music just isn't the rage anymore like it was 5 or 6 years ago.
