For Dems this wouldn't be a problem as Clinton already lowered the standards so far that this is irrelevant. However, in GOP circles this is more than enough to kill a political career as a lot of Republicans still believe that character counts. Too bad - write off that seat.

I do believe character counts and that's precisely why Jack Ryan's conduct is an issue. If he was a Democrat, it wouldn't even be a one day story... as a conservative, I am proud our party has higher standards and demands the best of our leaders.
