I haven't seen Shrek, won't see it, so you see it and you decide. There's quite a disagreement in the thread, if any of you has seen it, why don't you weigh in?
I'd like to see what you guys think of this movie. I've noticed a lot of kids' movies (the few I see) are usually or often infected - or innoculated, you might say - with a bit of gender identity confusion, Disney especially. They think it's good for the kids.
Let me and scripter know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

And I still completely disagree with this sentiment. While it may be being promoted in CA schools as "normal", it most certainly is -not- portrayed as normal in Shrek II. It is made fun of. It is mocked. It is the butt of several jokes. Why can't you distinguish one from the other?

Oh, there HAVE been (IMO) "good" movies - esp. ironically in the "adult" realm. I've been to more movies in the last couple years primarily cuz I thought they mite not only be of interest, but mite not offend me. (I've been wrong sometimes, but generally I pick pretty well. ;-) )
Doesn't matter. Kids, like in California, shouldn't have to listen to this garbage(the transgenderism/crossdressing message-that they are 'ok')

I've noticed this since the 50s Bugs Bunny cartoons...but I and millions of others grew up completely fine.
Does Disney 'think it's good for the kids' or does Disney know it will guarantee laughter from the kids AT the humorously-dressed characters?

Nope, but that kind of behavior probably runs in your family. It dosen't run in mine.
Using it for joking - i.e. "innocent fun" is the camel's nose. First of all, get the kids to think about it and know about it. Then laugh at it, it's funny - harmless. The next step, acceptance, then who knows - you might be one.
Transgenderism and all that accompanies it is not harmless fun. It is serious mental illness, and when promoted in society, seriously deviant and harmful.
Do we joke about the innocent fun of alcoholism or heroin addiction? Or those kooky kleptomaniacs or wacky arsonists?
