It is the supposed conservatives that knock Arnold for every action he takes and go to great extent to find fault where there is none. The Dems were taking contributions to cater to the tribes and I won't criticize what McClintock was doing because bridges have now been built by Arnold and McClintock.

This was a brilliant way to handle the Indian tribe casinos and is and will continue to be a great benefit to California.

How so? First of all, you are over the line with the "fan club". There were many of us trying to help the GOP win in California but I don't think anyone considered themselves a "fan" of any candidate.

Those folks who thought Arnold stood the only chance of winning were extremely critical of anyone on either side who took campaign funds from Indian tribes. Arnold was the only significant candidate who didn't. What exactly do you feel was "ironic"?

C'mon. "Those folks" were only critical of the Indian tribe issue because it made a good soundbite.

I'll make a friendly wager AS takes their money next time (as he is entitled) and "those folks" won't utter a peep.

No, I do believe that most Republicans were critical of Dems taking tribe money all along... that criticism extended to anyone on the right who also took the tribe bribes. Arnold didn't... that left him in a strong position to negotiate a great deal for California.

So you are condemning Arnold for your groundless assumption that next time he runs he will take tribe money? I see exactly where you are coming from.

Gov. Schwarzenegger Signs Agreements With Indians to Allow New Way Of Scalping The White Man

Hmmm…is that what goes on inside those casinos? I have chosen not to go in, so I didn’t realize that people were being scalped. It makes me wonder why others have chosen to go inside.

I read in the San Francisco Chronicle that AS may have been stabbed in the back by the tribes, who will use a gray area in the law. Apparently, if the slots are run by a central computer in the casino, they are considered "video lottery terminals" and not subject to paying money to the state. These terminals look like and function like regular slot machines and differences would not be noticed by most players.

Personally, I hope Prop 68 DOES pass. It would make more sense to know that the state will get 30% from the tracks and card clubs, not to mention the percentages to the county and city governments. Slots would also increase the handle for racing and benefit the government and the horsemen.
