The local morning drive time radio show was playing an audio clip. He was saying that he didn't want to die. It tore my heart out.

Our morning show here in the Boston area played it, too. It was awful! But, I was wondering why he was speaking in English instead of Korean. Is he an American citizen? Or did the captors want him to speak in English because the "message" is one they want Americans to get? Or something else?

He pleaded for his life in English. I am sure he was instructed to do it in English. He is a 100% Korean citizen, but speaks some English.
