The difference between Schwarzenegger and Davis, Bustamante, and yes, even McClintock is that Arnold's money if coming directly from the people of the state he has inspired.

You are sorely misinformed. As Carry Okie posted, the money comes from Real estate interests, Wall Street bankers, energy interests, ag interests, etc, those who directly benefit from Arnold's actions. He is no different than Davis in that regard; there are just a different set of players at the table.

Your unwillingness to engage in honest discussion, instead defending anything that Schwarzenegger does is getting tiresome. Your comments yesterday trying to paint Arnold as anything other than the social liberal he admitted he is were laughable.

And yes... I live in California. My family has been here since WW I.

Your writing style seems familiar, yet you just signed up at FR in December 2003, long after the Recall election. Perhaps you used to post under another name?

Aren't these the same people contributing to George Bush?
Be careful what you say...

Is it any surprise that the people who will profit from a revived California economy are supporting Arnold?
They like what Arnold is doing, because he is bringing prosperity back to the state, and creating a business environment that they can once again operate within.
It's the free-market at work. Perhaps you've heard of it?

The difference between Davis and Schwarzenegger is pretty clear. It's about how they play the game. It doesn't matter if some of these contributors also gave to Davis. They did because he used threats against them if they didn't. He was "pay to play". Don't you understand that?

Arnold is getting contribution for an entirely different reason: because business in California profits from his policies. The same reason why George Bush has his national contributors.

I too support Arnold. He is doing waht he said he would. The state is coming back. When the time comes Arnold will be there for Bush. I am betting California will go for Bush this time around and it will be because of Arnold and Maria. She is smart and a political ace in the hole. Yes, she's loving it, being first lady. I say more power to her. Hold off judgement till November--then you can carp all you like. I am sixth generation--my ancestor came in 1852 to dig for gold and in time started his own store in Mok Hill.
