It's a shame so many no chance loosers have stayed in this race and allowed the most liberal candidate to take a pretty commanding lead.

Unfortunately, LSJ is a Gannett paper, and they have become major league jerks on posts not even allowing excerpts.
As for this poll, I wish there was more than just an EPIC(A generally dem polling firm) poll here, but the conservatives really blew it here.
The gun groups backed DeRossett. The prolifers and Chamber backed Bisbee(who is anti-gun - although not as bad as Schwarz) who is running a weak campaign. Club for Growth backed Brad Smith.
So it's a split race the whole way.

Time for the pretend candidates to leave the race.

Which is why I'm shocked Doug Spade (A pro-gun dem) isn't running.

Dammit, we need to pick ONE GUY out of the 4 or 5 conservatives and have him run solo against Schwarz. Heck, maybe the conservatives could draw straws. At this point, it really doesn't matter whether Bisbee is not as good on guns and Smith has nepotism problems (his father's alleged vote-selling) and DeRossett isn't perfect either and Walberg doesn't have name ID: We just need to make sure than an all-out RINO such as Schwarz doesn't win the nomination. If all but one conservative dropped out and endorsed the one remaining conservative, he'd get over 60% of the vote even though the names of the former candidates would remain on the ballot. So are there any adults in the MI GOP who can lay down the law and make sure that a RINO doesn't win the nomination?
The more I see cases like this, the more I think that there should be run-offs when a primary doesn't result in anyone with as much as 40%. That's the way it is in NC, which should help ensure that RINO Virginia Foxx doesn't win the 5th district nomination.

Right now, if I lived there, I'd be voting for either DeWeese or DeRossett, or Smith. Walberg seems like a nice guy, but I haven't heard much overall from his campaign. I also have not seen any signs for him at all when I was in Lenawee County, his home base.
I've heard DeWeese radio ads and saw a couple of his signs. I know DeRossett has been real active in GOP circles campaigning and am waiting to hear more there. Smith I haven't seen anything from yet, but he keeps polling well.
I saw one Schwarz billboard(Michigan Ave - Lenawee). I saw one Bisbee sign in Lenawee as well.

Dan, I know the 2nd Am. is a litmus test for you, and I certainly respect your prerogative (for the record, the 2nd Am. is important to me as well, but not as important as abortion, gay marriage and a few other issues). But if for whatever reason Bisbee proves to have more support throughout the district and would have a better chance of beating the pro-abortion, gun-grabbing RINO, I think you should support him even if he is only 90% pro-gun (his one anti-gun vote was against conceal-carry, right?) as opposed to someone else's 100%. To put it another way, I believe that abortion should be illegal except to save the life of the mother, which means I oppose an exception in cases of rape or incest, and I would much rather support a candidate who shares that view with me than one who doesn't. But if a candidate who opposes abortion generally but would support an exception for rape or incest had the best chance of defeating a pro-abortion RINO, you can bet your behind that I'd support the 90% pro-lifer over the 100% pro-lifer who would be less likely to win: That's why I fully support President Bush even though he supports a rape or incest exception to an abortion ban. I think the common goal of all conservatives should be to stop the RINO Schwarz from winning the nomination, so if Bisbee proves to have the best chance to beat Schwarz one-on-one (which remains to be seen, but it could definitely be the case), I would recommend that you support him even if he voted against conceal-carry and is thus is only 90% pro-gun. Of course, if one of the non-Bisbee conservatives proves to be a better candidate, I think you should support that guy, which I'm sure you would, since I think you told me they all are 100% pro-gun.
Let's just make sure we nominate a conservative, which not only would give the MI heartland a solid representative, but would make it much less likely that the RATs can pick off the seat in 2004 or 2006.
