>>>Found that poll yet?

Yes I did, Miss Marple.

Don't be so impatient. My word is my bond. And like you, I don't live on FreeRepublic.

calcowgirl posted the results of that Gallup poll I refered to, at post #138 this thread. Thank you calcowgirl.

The actual free weblink no longer exists at the Gallup website. That's why calcowgirl couldn't supply a direct link to the article. I have the article on my PC`s hard drive. But I can't post it without access to a server.

However, the data from that Gallup poll does exist at several websites, including The Claremont Institute website. The specific data shows up halfway down the page. For arguments sake, I will post the data.

As you can clearly see, MM, McClintock would have beaten Bustamonte 56% to 37%.

-------------------------------------------------------

"You give McClintock a much greater percentage than other predictions I've seen, and 20% for McClintock would tell me that he was very electable, if Arnold was not in the race, contrary to arguments from establishment Republicans."

Gallup Poll shows that McClintock beats Bustamante so why settle for a RINO when you can have the real deal, a true conservative Republican Governor.

"Furthermore, when McClintock is pitted against just Bustamante, among probable voters the Republican state senator beats the Democratic candidate handily -- by 19 percentage points.

"If the choice were between Cruz Bustamante, the Democrat and Tom McClintock, the Republican, who would you be more likely to vote for [ROTATED -- Cruz Bustamante, (or) Tom McClintock]?"

2003 Sep 25-27 ----- Bustamante - McClintock - NEITHER (vol.) - OTHER (vol.) - No opinion

Registered Voters ----- 42% ------- 49% --------- 6% ------------- * ------------- 3%

Probable Voters ------- 37% ------- 56% --------- 5% ------------- * ------------- 2%

(vol.) Volunteered response * Less than 0.5%

And 100% of people who eat pickles will die... statistics mean nothing if the context is utterly skewed.

The poll was not only an outlier, but nobody ever campaigned against McClintock. The left campaiged FOR him almost as much as they did Bustamante. McClintock lost his minor race the year before and Simon was trounced for Governor in favor of the corrupt Davis the year before.

McClintock wouldn't have stood a chance if it was just him against Bustamante without Schwarzenegger taking all dirty mudslinging against the right. It's pathetic that you folks know this but won't acknowledge it.

Here I am. I see that it is ONE poll. Fair enough. I don't remember seeing it when the campaign was on. I was wrong.

Now, let's stop this silliness and let Californians deal with theier governor as they see fit. And I am all for him speaking to the convention...perhaps introducing the President or Vice President. We get more viewers that way. I am into winning this election, not making a statement.
