Would have been more awesome had the killer met his fate before Johnson did.

Well, then he very well wouldn't have been the killer, would he? Or would that be the "horrible" doctrine of "preemption"?

This is not "Quantum Leap", "Superman" or "Star Trek", where one can time travel to the past...this is not "Minority Report"; there are no "precogs" to predict the future. Horrible things happen, and it sucks that they happen. Do we let it go, and risk it happening again?

Given the reality of an innocent's murder, and the choice of letting the murder live, or hunting them down and killing them, I say "let them die", "ready aim fire", "roll on two", flip the switch, pull the trapdoor, whatever...so long as the perp is gone.

IMHO, maybe the reason for the LEADER having to "dump" the body is the lack of most Saudi's having cable tv.

Any Saudi who has seen just about ANY episode of the Soprano's, would know better.

(....also...very very convienient 5pm est for the Saudi Ambassador's "news conference".Johnson announced dead @ around 2:30....bad guys killed by 5:45 or so. Gee...the folks who had to work until 5:00, missed the media "ride".)

It's exactly the same thing clinton said all those years, and now Bush is saying it. And like clinton - it's only words, not deeds.

Excuse me??????

When Bush says bring em to justice don't forget he means Texas justice. Head on a stick type justice. What planet are you on? No offense intended but when you equate Bush to Clintoon I get a little verclempt.

We let the killers in Falluja go. We let Al-Sadr go. We let everybody go.

I thought SECOND GUESSING was what the demoncrats did for a living. I know we didn't let everybody go, I remember that deck of cards thing. The trials will start one day soon(next year probably)

Then you'll see some mideastern justice.

Supposedly, General Pershing had a way of dealing with Muslims (Islamic Terrorists or whatever they were called in his day). When they killed one, they buried a pig with him and that was the ultimate offense. They fear they won't meet Allah if they are anywhere near pigs. We need to make a statement that we will follow this procedure with all terrorists we find. Enough PC. Wild animals need to be eliminated.

What's not "awesome" about the killing of an Al Qaeda terrorist leader equal to Al Zarkawi?

I wouldn't say its' awesome...why couldn't they have captured this schmuck yesterday??!!

He went to running, then he was caught.

Another one bites the dust.

Is not beheading the standard method of capital punishment for the Kingdom? And, as I recall, it's usually pretty swift.

The Saudis can show some bona fides, if this vermin loses his head in about a week.

Why were they able to identify him AFTER the beheading? Why weren't they able to do so BEFORE so Johnson's life could be saved? SICKENING!

See Post 181.

Let's hope that somehow the killing of the killer brings comfort to the family and joy to the free world.

"Looks like Freddie Mercury"

LOL! It really does.

Another one bites the dust, once confirmed.

I am skeptical, especially if no living bad guys are caught to interrogate.

al-Qaida Leader Killed in Saudi Raid

4 minutes ago Add Top Stories - AP to My Yahoo!

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - The leader of al-Qaida in Saudi Arabia was believed killed in a raid in the capital Friday, hours after his group claimed the beheading of an American engineer, Saudi security officials said.

A U.S. official confirmed that al-Moqrin has been killed. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the information.

To establish identities, one Saudi official said forensic tests would be conducted on three bodies of militants killed in a shootout in a downtown neighborhood shortly after the discovery of Paul M. Johnson Jr.'s body.

The killing of Abdulaziz al-Moqrin, 31, would be a coup for the Saudi goverment, which has been under intense pressure to halt a wave of attacks against Westerners in the kingdom.

The Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya satellite station, which first reported al-Moqrin's death, said two other militants were also killed in the raid, and another was wounded and arrested. All three dead militants were on Saudi Arabia's list of most wanted men, security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Two suspects escaped, he said, said one Saudi security official who took part in the raid.

Al-Moqrin, who trained with Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) in Afghanistan (news - web sites), is believed to be the leader of the group calling itself al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, which claimed responsibility for Johnson's beheading.

Al-Moqrin's group has also claimed responsibility for most attacks against Westerners in Saudi Arabia in the past two months.

Nope, publicly feed his body to a herd of swine.

We can do both!

Where are the condemnations from the UN and the IRC for lack of due process? I wait with bated breath.

Perhaps you're right. But it still bothers me. I used to think FR was the best gathering of coherent conservative opinion on the 'net. I think Protest Warrior's forums have kind of stolen that crown now.

I'll believe the saudis when they show us the body and DNA confirmation.

Until that happens, I don't trust the saudis.

Actually this is maybe good news...in that part of the world it is always hard to tell. But it does explain the rather sickly look that the Saudi spokesman had while denouncing Johnson's death earlier in the day. SUpposedly they were killed while "dsiposing " of the body. Maybe now the hous of Saud will stomp down on theri EVIL doers
