I like Bush, but Bush is not in the same class as Reagan. Reagan was the best President since Washington.
Reagan was certainly not considered great at this point in his first term. Considering his presidency in its totality, and from a 20 year distance, his accomplishments are now considered great (by clear thinking people).
GWB has had a very different first term. I can't think of another president, other than Washington or Lincoln, who had to contend with so much so early in his term. GWB has strove mightily to protect this country from a vicious enemy so unlike any other. And he has had to do it all while battling another even more vicious enemy - the enemy within - fellow Americans.
Pray that God gives W the strength and wisdom to see it through.

I must amend my post to include Harry Truman having a helluva first few months in office. Can you imagine following FDR, a beloved president, being told about the Manhattan Project, seeing us through to V-E day, the decision to drop the bomb and end the war in the Pacific, all within about 4 months? Staggering.
Truman left office in Jan. 1952 with about a 20% approval rating. History has acknowledged the great accomplishments of HST. I concur.
