"We seem to have forgotten that at the time of 9/11 the president told the American people this war against international terrorism will last a long, long time, perhaps beyond his lifespan and that of many of his fellow Americans. And because we have forgotten, we are rapidly wearying of the struggle and resenting its cost." This is so true.

(Which would you prefer? "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" or "I did not have sex with that woman?)

We've spent TRILLIONS of dollars over the last 40 years on the "war on poverty" farce and all we have is an entire segment of the population that is content to live in drug-infested squalor and collect welfare every month. And what is the left's answer to this fiasco, give it more time and spend more money.

Yes, it *is* so true -- and so scary that people have already forgotten!

We seem to have forgotten that at the time of 9/11 the president told the American people this war against international terrorism will last a long, long time, perhaps beyond his lifespan and that of many of his fellow Americans. And because we have forgotten, we are rapidly wearying of the struggle and resenting its cost. This is so important, delineating the nub of a major problem with vital implications for the future, that it should be noted by all and quoted where-ever and whenever possible.

(Reagan won the cold war. Of course the left isn't impressed since they rooted for the other side.)
