"I liked it more than I thought I would," he said, "more than I was prepared to like it. Who knew that Bill Clinton could write this well?" ~snip~
Mr. Rather said he was suitably convinced that Mr. Clinton had written the book himself, having glimpsed notebooks filled with longhand in Mr. Clintons Harlem office.
As I noted yesterday, Rather is a fatuous fool.
Deadlines: Writing His Book on 'Clinton Time'
Excerpt:
But it's still going slowly. In addition to putting pen to yellow pad (he does not use a computer) and relying on the 85 audiotapes he recorded while in office, the former president tapes conversations with his former speechwriter Ted Widmer several times a month. A former aide familiar with the system explains that Clinton likes to "talk out ideas first," and Widmer is his sounding board. Sometimes specific topics are covered; other times Clinton prefers Widmer to ask him questions. Once the inexhaustible Clinton starts, says the aide, "the floodgates open."
And as I said yesterday:
I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to realize that Ted Widmer is the ghostwriter, and Clinton copies down longhand--and I'm sure embellished and added on. But "written himself", as the idiot Rather asserts? Obviously not.

Well, I for one, am glad that Dan no longer feels threatened by Americans to speak his mind.
Remember last summer? He gave an interview to a European rag about how he thought he was going to be "necklaced"?
How I hate Viacom. I think I'm longing for the days of trust-busting Teddy Roosevelt.

Oops, forgot. Apologies. Accepted, but don't EVER let it happen again. I'm on my lunch break reading this! ;-)

My dad bought a mule from a livestock co.that truly was as dumb as Dan Rather. We kids had to walk in front of this mule with an ear of corn so he would pull the plow.Clinton has to be using an ear of corn to get Rather to praise him. It's probably kind of SHAPED like one, but much smaller, about the diameter of a quarter, and has a bend to the left.

Anyone who had any doubts about Dan's attitude toward the Clintons need only recall the sweetheart interview Dan gave Bill and Hill about three months into THEIR administration (before they'd even had a chance to unpack): "What a great job you two are doing for our country" (or words to that effect).

'Maybe he didnt come totally, absolutely clean with himself, but he made an effort to do it,' Rather said..."Sorry.
Couldn't resist pinging you over here to read that *one* quote, my friend.

I mean, seriously.

"Well, we all know the real headline..."Rather gives clinton a Monica"
Ooops...I was too late...you got there first.
Maybe we need another campaign of sending KNEEPADS to Dan Rather. It would be funny if he was inundated with knee pads, and with every set, send a cc letter to FOX news so they could report it.
