Don't bank on that...Gore couldn't win his own state and had he, he would be President right now. The number one guy on the ticket is the most important, these things are all distractions...I think another reason why Kerry wanted to delay accepting the nomination is because it will be a point in time closer to the election and may indicate if he actually has a chance to beat W...this might open up better candidates for Kerry's VP...a good friend of mine who was a Cheif of Staff for an NJ Congressman (RAT) told me that most of the better VP candidates are staying away for now because they don't want to be associated with this sinking ship.
Bad analogy. LA has more black voters than TN and has two Dem senators and a Dem governor. LA is much more Democrat than TN and that's what we're talking about-- could the selection of a popular Democrat in a competitive Southern state tip the scales away from Bush? LA and AR (or WV) would be ripe for the picking. It's too bad for Kerry that David Pryor isn't 10 years younger.
