Didn't bother to read the article. When Phil landed here in L.A., it was right after Jerry West signed Shaquille O'Neal and he did a dead-on version of Shaq in his first or second hour on the air, slamming L.A. basketball fans, totally dissing L.A.! I don't listen that much anymore, but does anybody remember, early on, the Jeff Dowder Motorcycle Bit where he said in that stoner voice "...Trip in Mint Canyon Maaaan...". (I still have that on cassette somewhere) Oh I miss hearing him and R.C. Collins bickering at each other or Harvey Wireman and Margaret Bickering at the Rose Parade back in the 90's. His producer had great Rock n Roll music at the end of each show back then , when it was only an hour, w/ perfectly inserted character voices to the songs.(Still LOLOLOL)

My favorite bit was when Vernon Dozier was charged with shooting an old man in the testicles with a Tazer on karaoke night for not singing "My Way" his way.

"Grrrr.... He didn't sing it his way!"

Hendrie is truly talented. He is the latter day Bob & Ray. Either you get it or you don't. Not everything he does works but when it does he is very funny.

Get out. You don't like the kid who calls his mom the suburban sex-beast and his dad the beer-swilling, coke-snorting boomer? Kids like that are going to save this country.

I remember a show with Bobbi Dooley as on as head of the "Westerner Estates" Neighborhood Association and was explaining how the the association's rules kept property values up. Among the neighborhood associations rules were:

Houses had to be painted certain colors.

Grass had to be cut.

No cars on blocks in front of the house.

No fat People!

She said that there is nothing worse than truing to sell your house and have a obese neighbor walking around their yard during an Open House.

I recall a bit shortly after 9/11 where a 'guest' who was an from Afghanistan living in America was selling American Flags, American Flag Tee Shirts, pins and American Flag Toilet Paper.

Callers freaked out. I could not believe that there are tat many stupid people out there that would fall for Phil's pranks.

Oh yeah, I think that was Raj Faneen. Same voice to be sure.
He "Raj" used to host an hour of the show for Phil when he was late (etc.) He was from Egypt back then and the callers would go off on him because that thick accent was really difficult to understand at times.. He definitely brought out the 'racism' in those callers, which is one of the reasons the show is so successful, he triggers peoples feelings and makes them feel obligated to call. Hilarious!

My favorite was the guy that was suing his mother-in-law because she kept him from making the cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving. He said he and his kids always made the cranberry sauce together, and he was suing the mother-in-law for alienation of affection. The clencher was, the MIL insisted on letting her son (the wife's brother) make it since he was fixing to go to jail for life for murder, and would never get to spend Thanksgiving with the family again! LOL!!!

I've only caught Phil's show a couple of times (it's on at a bad time for me), but he's a nut and I enjoyed every minute of it. Last time I caught him, he was interviewing Michael Moore, who couldn't take himself away from eating long enough to finish the interview. IIRC, Michael's last words were "Oooh, is that bacon? Put that in a blender and bring it to me..."

My favorite was the guy that was suing his mother-in-law because she kept him from making the cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving.

That's Steve Bosell, a construction contractor who is probably my favorite Hendrie character. He sues everyone for everything imaginable.

Another Bosell lawsuit - Steve stocked up on supplies for Y2K in case everything went to hell. Well, Y2K came and went (and we all survived), and he was taking some of his supplies back to the store to try and get his money back. Thing is, his idea of emergency supplies was 100 cases of KY Jelly. He was afraid that he would get raped by gangs of bikers after society collapsed, and he wanted to make sure it wouldn't hurt. His neighbor saw him loading the KY Jelly in his truck and started laughing at him, so Steve sued him for "making him look like a fool."

Hendrie even managed to spoof G. Gordon Liddy once with a Bosell lawsuit. Liddy read some ridiculous lawsuit story he picked up somewhere on his show one day and even named Steve Bosell as the plaintiff. He found out later that he'd been had.

It shows a lot about the Left that Matt Groening thinks Republicans want Phil off the air. He is real funny but didn't pull ratings here in STL, maybe because our local drive time guy is so funny.

I think I heard that one too. Bobbie Dooley was back on tonight and she and her husband were planning to build townhomes in the Western States Homeowners Association that would have mud ovens in 'em to appeal to the "New America" with hispanics and native Americans as the new majority!!!

When the hispanic caller objected she play music that sounded like a cross between polka music and the macaraina right in his face (ears)!!!

He slammed Moore the other night by answering an e-mail from a listener wanting to know why he didn't interview the real Michael Moore. His response was "because the real Michael Moore spews a bunch of bs abd can't back it up, and only does interviews with Playboy and Hustler, and he won't come on my show because he knows I'd nail his a$$ to the wall". The people I see here painting Phil with the leftist brush baffles me. Listen to one show, and you'll figure out quick that he's anything but a lib.
