It does present a modern perspective on the wisdom of our forbearers in mandating a separation of Church and State. Of course they experienced the tolerance of “Christian Europe” up close and personal, as Christians. I’m amazed at the number of posters who’d condone my state murder or expulsion, for my own good, of course, as a “heretic”.
