Speaking of Secret Service, I had this e-mail exchange today with a friend of mine who served as USSS for 20+ years in the White House. Lucky for him he retired just in time before the WH became infested with the Clintonistas.

I thought of you last week during the various Reagan services. Wow - what an outpouring across the whole country - that was refreshing and cathartic to see. By all accounts, Pres. Reagan was very kind to all White House staff - assuming that to be true for the protection staff, in particular?!

Good to hear from you. The Reagan tributes brought back a lot of memories last week. I spent a good bit of time with him over the eight years. One of the favorite moments was at the Republican convention in Dallas in 1984 when the Vocal Majority performed for him. He was so impressed. Everything that was said about him last week was true. He was a first class gentlemen and far and away, the favorite protectee of all time from the Secret Service point of view.
