Shock jock Howard Stern says he will help John Kerry win crucial swing voters in November.
The Hill today quoted Stern as saying on the air Monday: "I'm both pro-Kerry and anti-Bush. More anti-Bush. I encourage people on the air and personally [to vote for him]. Here's the deal, dude. It turns out the show has a lot of influence among swing voters, voters who are not Republican or Democrat, but intelligent enough to vote for the good candidate."
He said he had never met the senator but considered him a "good guy."
The Washington publication noted: "Stern's listeners support Kerry over President Bush by a 10-point margin, according to a poll released last week."
CORRECTION: I'll Deliver Swingers votes for Kerry.
here's a guy that whatever you think of his show's content has proven he can deliver votes for Republicans (Pataki, Guilianni, Whitman) to name a few (plus a couple of congressional candidates). He was vehemently pro-Bush after 9/11 - what happened?
Hope he likes having a job that involves the wearing of a paper hat.
Regards,
Guilianni is a Republican?
He can't do porn anymore after Janet Jackson and he's ticked about it. He blames the JJ incident on conservatives and therefore Bush.
Stern is delusional. Kerry has already said he favors cracking down on indecency on the public airwaves.
Stern is trolling for controversy to boost sagging ratings.
Last time I checked. :-) (Republican doesn't always equal Conservative as I'm sure you know)
Oh the plight of the naive.
Was that before he voted *for* it? flip flop depending on the wind.
I wonder what Stern's demographics are like. If his listeners tend toward the Republican side, then Kerry's reported ten-point lead among Stern listeners may suggest that Stern really has some influence. But if your average Stern listener is more likely to be a Democrat than a Republican, then the ten-point lead may not mean a thing.
Howard who?
Why doesn`t Kerry go on Stern and he can speak his fluent French to the lesbians and strippers, do his Pepe Le Pew act... Oh wait, that ain`t an act.
He should have stayed out of politics. No one cares about his political views. Nothing about his show revolves around intelligence. His viewers and listeners just want to see and hear his dealings with women.
More likely swinger voters.
Howard has Jumped-the-Shark.
I am sure Stern could deliver his listeners to Kerry. The question is, how many of Stern's listeners actually vote. I personally don't think this election is going to be that close one way or the other.
