SCOTT'S FISHY FURY
By HOWARD BREUER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 15, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Scott Peterson hotly cursed and threw a flashlight after police grilled him about his suspicious fishing trip the day his pregnant wife, Laci, disappeared, one officer testified yesterday.
"I asked him what he was fishing for," Modesto Detective Matthew Spurlock told rapt jurors during the start of the third week of Peterson's murder trial.
"He had this blank look for a second or so, his eyes shifted a bit. And he didn't really answer the question.
"I asked what he was using for bait, and I got the same kind of response . . . this blank shifting," Spurlock said. "He couldn't really answer. Then he said, 'a silver lure,' and he held his hands about 7 to 8 inches apart."
Spurlock said that when he then asked Peterson to leave the house, he watched as the fertilizer salesman cursed through gritted teeth and threw a flashlight to the ground.
"It sounded like 'f - - -,' like it was being said out of frustration," the cop said............

REDWOOD CITY -- The judge in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial refused to declare a mistrial Monday over surprise testimony about Peterson's use of an obscenity shortly after his pregnant wife disappeared.
Superior Court Judge Alfred Delucchi gently chastised prosecutor Rick Distaso for pulling a fast one, but concluded that it was not a gross violation of trial procedure.
Also Monday, Sharon Rocha cried as she looked away from a large screen showing remains of her daughter, Laci Peterson. Minutes later, pictures of her smiling daughter splashed on the screen and Rocha quietly got up and exited the courtroom.
And two Modesto police officers said Scott Peterson seemed caught off-guard when first asked about his solo fishing trip.
Sparks flew after lead defense attorney Mark Geragos asked Delucchi for a mistrial, in a motion that drew snickers from the audience.........

June 14 (BCN) A furious Mark Geragos asked for a mistrial this morning in the Scott Peterson double murder trial after prosecutors failed to inform him that a police officer overheard Peterson use an expletive on the night his wife Laci went missing. .........

Thanks, Meg. Nice to see you as well!
Thanks, RG.
Amen! Good for you Sharon!
That's right Meg. Your post makes a great deal of sense. I'm still convinced Laci knew Noting of the boat and I don't believe she was ever in THAT warehouse either. As to the other information - it seems too good to be true but the girl who stated all of that got her information from a friend that works for the Modesto Police Department. When the evidence is revealed it may not be as stunning as what she says but I do think there is "something" to it.!!
I hope so...See my 232...trials can make me want to pull my hair out because they move so slowly but I want the facts and I wish this were televised...I sure can't depend on the talking heads....
Not just Liz Smith but also Cindy Adams. Did you read the thread on WS where one of the posters from New York talked with Cindy Adams at a book signing. Cindy Adams still maintains that she has inside information and that quote: "oh he's guilty alright, just wait, you'll see"!!
Update on testimony...

The media coverage and the talking heads (at least most of them) has been terrible. Pretty much all of the information is slanted against the Prosecution. A good Prosecutor DOES begin slowly and methodically and he builds a FIRM FOUNDATION. I find it dispicable that the media chooses to mock the thoroughness of the Prosecutor while at the same time highlighting Geragos's clown behaviour as funny. This morning I heard Beth Karas say that during one of the laughing episodes, one juror clapped his hands together while guffawing. I wish someone would write to the Judge and tell him that a male Juror who NODS to Scott everyday as if to give him the thumbs up, should be removed and replaced by an alternate. I agree with Sharon Rocha, what is funny about this trial. Geragos is nothing but a showman and a clown.
I agree with you. It is disturbing that a juror is acknowledging Scott at all. They are not their to befriend him. Another thing that bothers me is Scott smiling and laughing. If I was accused of murdering my spouse and I was innocent I sure wouldn't be smiling and laughing and trying to ham it up for the camera's!
Hopefully this juror has stopped this as I read he had on one board(talking head quoted, so don't know if true)
Catherine Crier coming on..hope she has news.
About laughing in the court room and Geragos..Ron Granski said Geragos can't take it but he can sure dish it out..(Geragos wanted the courtroom cleared when they laughed at him , not with him)
Keep me posted Okay Meg. I'm at work. I can keep peeking tho.
Geragos is grandstanding, he is mocking the court and the Rocha family. I liked what the Judge told him when he wanted the courtroom cleared, "that only happens in the movies!"
I applauded the judge!
Howdy deb. Long time. Regards to HD :)
So did I! I'm glad he is not like judge Ito from the OJ trial.
Hello! I'll have to send you mail so we can get caught up.
Catherine Crier is saying "her sources" are saying...Scott went out to bay even when media didn't write about search, rental companies informed police when he rented a car..Scott used family cars, too for his trips to go to the bay.
Defense lawyers are discounting this info, multiple cars, multiple phones..It's all meaningful only because of the police inference! The defense attorneys always sarcastically refer to a few rags on the washing machine and a crooked rug as all they have.
Scott tried to access the victim fund for "expenses."(This is BAD)...Discussing a week after disappearance Scott spoke to realtors about selling house, then did sell Laci's car.
Extensive porno on computer on Scott's computer(bestiality,"raping the teacher")Defense TH says not relevant..(It got in in the Dr. Grieneder trial)End of Laci discussion.
Thanks for the update. Getting ugly...
They did say Cloward, director of the search which included every nook and cranny, body of water and puddle eventually in the county, spoke briefly about finding the anchor...
( Cloward informed the Rochas, Sharon called ,recorded, and told Scott it was an anchor and Scott's "Whewww" was noted by Beth.)
Scott: Whew..I am sure glad that isn't her body because I want her to be alive or because I don't want them to find where I put her body? Hmmmm
