Washington state ping please. Thanks.
It would be appropriate to carry signs saying, "When Kerry comes to Washington State it rains. When President Bush comes to Washington State the sun shines".
In your heart-of-hearts, please tell me what you think is the chance that The Prez will carry Washington.
Spokane Bump!
fyi
I'll be there with bells and whistles on! I'm attending the function. Can't wait.
It's a tough call but he has a chance. The city of Seattle is a lost cause but the outlying areas of King County can swing Republican with the right ticket. We've got Bush/Nethercutt for Senate/Dino Rossi for Governor. Pretty darn good ticket. IF we get our voters in Eastern Washington out in force then he should be able to make it. They don't have to win King County, just get about 40 - 45%. George Nethercutt has a very good chance of knocking off Patty Murray - one of the most obnoxious and stupid Senators.
Thanks for the ping Gretchen! I'm SOOOOO looking forward to this!
The Seattle "Veterans Rally" is scheduled on the same day at 2:30 pm PST at the Navy Reserve Building, 860 Terry Ave. North, in Seattle...
ping
Currently it is actually looking pretty close and like he might carry it. Locke has done the dems a lot of damage. If you knew the phone calls and contacts the Republican Party is getting from the Seattle suburb women that the dems are counting on to take WA state you would be pleased. We are.
Right now I'm taking a break from working on my precinct walking list. Ideally, I'll know where every Republican and Bush supporter in my precinct is by the time absentee ballots are mailed out. Then I'll use that information to ensure that they actually vote.
If you're in Washington, volunteer for the campaign and check "Grassroots," "Voter ID/Registration," "Door-to-door," and "Get Out the Vote."
And when your precinct captain calls you and asks for your help, give it to him (or better yet, find your county GOP contact info and ask them to put you in touch with your BC '04 precinct captain). I'm in a nice compact precinct and can do most of the preliminary stuff myself, but some precinct captains aren't so lucky. They're going to need people to hit the streets.
And that's how we'll win Washington.
Thank you for the ping! I should be able to stop by at the end of work for a little while. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
If anyone's free tomorrow (Wednesday) at 1 pm and/or at 6 pm, there are two sign-painting events for the rally at Nethercutt for Senate HQ in the basement of the American West bank building at 41 W. Riverside (Riverside and Browne).
OK, this is the final word, carved in stone, straight from the horse's mouth (which in this case is Tom Roberts, a high mucky-muck in the Washington Bush campaign, confirmed by local GOP and campaign officials):
WHAT: Welcome President Bush to Spokane!I will be there by 3:30 (I'll try to make it by 3, if I can find a place to park) to pass out signs. Bring flags and wear red-white-and-blue or W stuff. We have lots and lots of signs; if you bring your own, make it positive.WHEN: Thursday, June 17, 2004 at 3:30 PM
WHERE: President Bush is scheduled to arrive in Spokane on Thursday and all Bush Volunteers are invited to meet and rally in support of President Bush.
We will be gathering at the Radio Flyer Wagon in River Front Park. This location is just around the corner from the Spokane Convention Center on the corner Spokane Falls BLVD and Washington. We will meet briefly to organize and distribute ourselves along the street for the President's arrival and to wave our supportive signs and banners.
I understand that the Dems are having a "Barbecue against Bush" in Riverfront Park. We're having a rally for Bush. And that's why we'll win.
:) The Radio Flyer Wagon...ah, fond memories of Spokane - my old city! BUMP. I have no worries that you'll outnumber the "great unwashed!"
I just realized that the posted message refers to "Bush Volunteers." That's just because that's who the email message was sent to. Of course, all Bush supporters are welcome (though don't be surprised if you end up being asked to become a Bush Volunteer).
Thanks for the ping. My plane doesn't land until 5 P.M. Darn, it wish that GW had told me that he was going to be in town at the same time I was. Then I could have scheduled an earlier flight to meet up with him.
