Guess what - this web site is a FAKE. It looks like the "Gay Gamete" web site was part of a class project from a California art /design school called California Institute of the Arts, in Valencia.

Check out the URL of the home page. http://www.calarts.edu/~cleary/ (The page linked to above isn't the home page.)

It looks like the artist is one Clover Leary: http://art-design.smsu.edu/acm/contextin/fall_03/gaygamete/index.htm Looks like she did the project in the fall of 2003.

Har, har - very clever. I really like these fake web sites, though; they're hysterical. (BTW - just to be sure, I did a NCES check on California Institute of the Arts, to make sure *they* were for real...)

It may be a class project, but is it fake?

I hope it is fake.

Even if it is just a web site, it's still a web site. It doesn't claim to do anything else.

By it's very existence, it isn't fake. It's real.

The next thing to research would be to check and see if this GG, Inc or whatever is a real corporation (state of Missouri, probably), and who owns the domain name. I'm worn out for now.

Cal Arts is notorious bastion of raving homo rump-rangers. I used to attend COC down the street from there. The stories of their goings on (bac in the late 70s) were legion -- even back then when "the boys" weren't so visible.

While it may have been some kind of class project, I don't doubt the perverse intent for one minute considering the source.
