I'm thinking petrified "nannyberries". Think about it, it all fits. If there was ever an animal not of this earth its a goat.

Galactic goat herders allowed overgrazing of mars so the goats were evacuated to earth.

My pic is black/white.

How do you get 'bluberries' out of that shadow?

Those JPL tech guys have some imagination.

My imagination 'see's' dog turds.

And how do you get Internet access for your cave? ;)

No sir, it didn't cost millions to get your floor installed, like it cost to take this pic! That said, I still fully support future space exploration for whatever opportunities that may come.

Like a frozen splash. Could this form inside a loose material like dirt and then be exposed by wind erosion?

How shall I put this?

Er.

The quantity is incorrect for these to be goat berries.

Now...I suppose it's possible that they let loose on reentry at a very high altitude, thus scattering the...effect.

For those of us who aren't tuned into the Richard C. Hoagland network, could you explain what we're looking at and what we're supposed to be seeing here?

They found dog turds on Mars.

Can't locate dog.

I'm not qualified, but when I encountered nodules whilst core-drilling, was told by the onsite geologist that the crystals inside were formed with the assistance of bacteria.

He could have been BS'ing me, but logically there is a ring of truth; bacteria is more intelligent than rock.

Well, actually what's more interesting is the layering on the rock on the left.

And it does appear there may be "blueberries" similar to the ones found by Opportunity within the matrix of that rock.

And overall the striking thing is finding something so similar to what Opportunity found on the complete OPPOSITE side of the planet.

on the complete OPPOSITE side of the planet.

Thanks for pointing that out. Were both landing sites determined to be wet at some time?

Yeah, that looks like blueberries to Richard Hoagland.

Apparently, you have had experience with goats, if it is possible for a goat to take a dump on something they will figure out how to do it. However that is about the only thing they can figure out to do.

Right now, the land owner where I live has goats and they are all over me. I can understand after constant close contact with goats it could be possible for someone to cause the total extinctinon of goats and it would not take a big rock falling out of the sky to do it. There are thousands of other ways to do it and I am waiting for my chance.
