imagine a situation where a Harris and Kleibold were able to casually stroll down the hallway opening fire at whim, and nobody could oppose them. imagine the death toll!

Imagine if those two students tried to shoot up a school in the Wild West days. I do not think they would last past their first rifle magazine. Kids in those days could carry a hunting knife, and many are familiar with firearms. They would not run in terror like the TV/NEA trained kids. Once those two vermins tried to reload, the student body would be all over them with their hunting knives, frontier wrestling and fighting, and they will be killed by their own rifles before the sheriff strolls up there. Coming to think of it, those troubled youths would have been thrown out of school way before they reach the point to shoot anybody. Back then schools were not required to keep troubled youths like they do today.
