U.S. Charges Man With Plotting to Blow Up Columbus, Ohio, Mall
June 14 (Bloomberg) -- A federal grand jury in Columbus, Ohio, has charged a Somali national, Nuradin M. Abdi, with providing material support to the al-Qaeda terrorist organization in a plot to blow up a shopping mall.

Abdi, 32, worked with Iyman Faris, an Ohio truck driver who last year admitted he plotted with al-Qaeda to sabotage the Brooklyn Bridge and derail trains, the U.S. Justice Department said in a news release. Abdi received bomb-making instructions from another, unnamed co-conspirator and used fraudulent travel documents, U.S. officials said.

Abdi has been held by U.S. immigration authorities since his arrest Nov. 28, 2003.

Faris, a native of Kashmir also known as Mohammad Rauf, pleaded guilty in October to helping plot a second wave of terror attacks on New York and Washington. The attacks did not take place. He is serving a 20-year sentence at a federal prison in Florence, Colorado, according to the Web site of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.

U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft is scheduled to discuss the case against Abdi at a press conference in Washington at 11:30 a.m. local time.

And to think .. Fat Teddy and Mad Man Biden think these people are being unjustly held and should be given their proper rights

Well I just hope Ashcroft made sure Abdi received warm meals and a good night sleep /s>
