If you go back to when President Bush was sworn in to office until now, you will find a steady stream of complaints that President Bush was/is being too nice.
On this thread there those that want President Bush to stop being nice to the Democrats in general and the Clintons in particular.
The purpose of my comments (which were directed at those that want President Bush to get in the gutter) was that it is unproductive regardless how satisfying it would be to us on the right.
Currently, the main stream media is still a powerful force to be reakon with. They, with their friends on the left have tried on a number of occassions to create scandals that do not exist. Do you really believe that if President Bush had come into office seeking vengence on the left or on the Clintons that he would not have been portrayed as a mean spirited Republican and that almost anything the left wanted to print about him would have been believed?
The media continues to attack President Bush, but it has little effect since the American people can see for themselves the type of person that President Bush is.
So, I was not painting all members of this forum with the same brush, but only those that do not understand the need for civility even when you yourself are being attacked.
Have a good day. ;-)
No, I don't believe that. I pointed out that last week we had to hear about how during Reagan's era political differences were not matched by personal animosity, unlike now--the pundits intoned. What a crock. And as you say, President Bush, from the start, has been gracious and kind, yet the implication last week was that one could point to him as the cause of the current rancor. Again, absolute nonsense.
Having said that, I do think he made a couple of witty and subtle statements today that had me chuckling. My favorite was not directed at the clintons but the Rodham "boys".
