In a related thought, I hear a lot of [liberal] news people now referring to our country without the article "The".
Example: "Spokesman said "United States will send troops to that area...". Or, "They will send an ambassador to United States.".
Now, did I miss a grammar lesson, or are we melding with any number of foreign languages to reconstruct ours?
Another case in point is..."On Air". Now, I was in radio for over 15 years, and all of our lighted studio signs said "On THE Air". But, no more.
It's almost as irritating to me as the moronic use of "like" and covering a weak vocabulary by ending with "whatever". Then, there is "see what I'm sayin'".
Well, I'm getting, like, tired of all these new phrases, or whatever...see what I'm sayin?

Grammar is always being undermined: I have noticed that reporters tend to write "graduated high school," instead of "graduated FROM high school," for instance.
