Thank you for your wonderful report. You gave your children the gift of memories to reflect upon, remember with some sadness due to the death of a great man and the crassness shown by the press, and at the same time remember fondly for meeting the other wonderful people in line and being a part of history.

Much appreciative of the ping, Auntie. The throngs of common folk honoring President Reagan all week must have been terrifying to the media.
I noticed a strange phenomena in my neighborhood last week. Here, as almost anywhere today, the residents are too lazy to fly American flags even on the Fourth. Last week, the flags mushroomed....and some folks even took the trouble to attach black streamers or ribbons.
The media has cause for trepidation.

Thank you for your wonderful report.
What is amazing is that every person who was there represents several others who, like me, just could not go but wanted to.
Thank you for paying your respects and for representing so many of us!

For some reason this pic doesn't open in the thread but opens in Samurai_Jack's comments and in my reply. Go figure.
Probably one of the few times being surronded by LEO's was a good thing in my brother's life ;>)

It was nice to meet you, that was a good thing you did with your children taking them to the Viewing of a great man.

Wow, so people refused to be interviewed? That had to really make the media mad. I found it interesting that all the interviews I saw where focusing on the "history" and "telling people I was there" aspect now that you mention it.
Slimy media, they probably got tons of interviews of people praising Reagan that they couldn't bear to show. It gives me even greater pleasure to know that there were so many thousands right in the media's back yard.
FYI, I waited from 7:30pm to after 5am on Monday-Tuesday here and it was an equally gratifying experience. I was disappointed there wasn't any media with the long lines....now i know better as to why.

Thank you for being there to show our love and respect for President Reagan and accepting the challenge of facing down the media hatemongers. President Reagan is very proud, especially of the young ones. God bless you all.

What a beautiful report. I watched much of the coverage on t.v. wishing I could have been there in person, but now I almost feel like I was! Thanks!
