I imagine that this event taking palce wasn't known by alot of people, so I thought that I would address it. I came across the article by accident. I knew nothing, until then, about Specter attending the event.

Makes you wish PA voters would have known about this a couple of months ago. Maybe they should write in Toomey this November...

With a name like that, I thought he was a Texan. (Why do I now have the theme music to "King of The Hill" running through my head? lol...)

I won't be weeping if he loses in Nov.
The morons said "Toomey is too conservative to win!" ignoring the fact that PA elected Santorum...

Arlen was on "De-Face the Nation" today, with Bob "I want to act like Reagan was a liberal now" Shieffer and Kathy "I work for Time Magazine and let's pretend I'm objective" Tumulty today.
All three liberals were bashing Dr. James Dobson, who bravely went up against their anti-life KILL THE EMBRYOS position.
Dobson accurately pointed out that the private research being funded is tending away from embryonic stem cell research (still legal) and towards the adult stem cell research. Dr. Dobson asserted the desire for federal funding of embryonic research is merely from institutions looking for FREE MONEY FOR BASIC RESEARCH from the government. No significant private monies are being used for embryonic research...because it is not yielding results.
Arlen's response? "Well, I've held 14 hearings about this and lots of folks say it'd be a good thing..."
What a joke. Arlen does not acknowledge any dissent within the scientific community regarding the value of stem cell research. Dr. Dobson, otoh, did say stem cell research was valuable, but pointed out the bigger promise of adult stem cell research over that of embryos.

I still say the best thing for Penn freepers would be to refuse to vote for this goat.
It will do the Republicans no good to have him in the Senate. He is worse than a Democrat, because he encourages the other RINOs to vote against Bush on all the critical votes.
In particular, he will vote against all the decent judicial candidates. A Democrat would be preferable.
Why Rove and Bush supported this jerk I don't know. But they got no quid pro quo from him, and they never will. He must be sent out to pasture.

Jabnuary(pun) is the month when the conservatives, within the Republican party, got jabbed in the back. And it took place in January.
Understand?
To: Laissez-faire capitalist
I'm sure that he is going to do a "Jumping Jeffords" over to the Democratic party after he is elected. He is a liberal Democrat through and through.
