Retired diplomats, military officers urge Bush defeat
Washington-AP -- A group of retired diplomats and military officers says President Bush's policies are endangering national security -- and they're urging Americans to vote him out of office.
The group calls itself Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change. Its 26 members include former ambassadors and military leaders under both Democratic and Republican administrations.
William Harrop, who was ambassador to Israel under the first President Bush, says the group's members have lost confidence in the current president's ability to lead the U-S.
Contrast the coverage of this group with coverage of naval personnel who served with Kerry who stated he was not fit to be a commander in chief.
"Wednesday, June 16, at 8 a.m. EDT at the National Press Club (Zenger Room), 13th floor, 529 14th St., N.W., Washington, D.C. "
Maybe some of our great Wash. DC area FReepers will show up.
Yawn ...
Misleading title. These are retirees. Out of office, out of touch and thank God, out of power. This release makes them sound like the all knowing Maji.
& just watch how much more press they get when compared to the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth :-(
Obviously a sea change in policy has occured, and the members of the old Eastern estabishment don't like what has happened.
"Contrast the coverage of this group with coverage of naval personnel who served with Kerry who stated he was not fit to be a commander in chief."
Exactly. This is front page news everywhere, and the foreign media, including Al Jazeera picked it up too.
The same papers didn't report at all, or barely reported on page 67 about the Vietnam Vets who served with Kerry, who signed a letter and held a press conference stating that Kerry is not fit to be Commander in Chief.
They are the ones who picked this name for their organization: "Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change"
A bunch of despicable characters, who put their own petty grievances ahead of the security of the US.

It is a misleading title. The title should be Dipolmats and Military Commanders for Terrorism.
Zactly!
They worked for the US govt. So what? What govt. do they work for now?
"What govt. do they work for now?"
It is obvious they spilt their time between AlQaeda, Hamas, the Baathists, and Fidel Castro.
"What govt. do they work for now?"
An excellent question!
Anti-Bush also means Anti-Reagan now since we know who Reagan would have voted for and who he would have wanted to carry on his legacy.
Good point!
Saudi Arabia?
I would be interested in knowing what specific intelligence they have been made privy to which would allow them to express informed opinions. Would further like to know their opinions regarding Reagan's Cold War strategy. I have other questions, but since I know these two will never be asked, detailing the remainder would be an even bigger waste of time.
