Warsaw, Poland, Jun. 12 (UPI) -- Concerned about voter apathy in this week's European elections, leaders of new EU member countries urged the public Saturday to go to the polls.

President Aleksandar Kwasnewski of Poland and his Czech Republic counterpart Vaclav Klaus both issued appeals to their citizens to vote.

How very "American" of them. LOL!

I think the anit-EU voters may win this, wouldn't that be interesting.

Of course voter turnout is low. It is low worldwide, because like the people of the old Soviet Union, voters know that they are being bombarded with organized propaganda from political syndicates that function much like the Soviets - to give us a limited choice of candidates that the syndicates offer. Like the Soviet elections, turnout will be low unless voters are threatened or whipped into a frenzy of fear and hate.

Good thought. When the mainstream media carts out 'concern over low voter turnout' stories, its usually an early sign that the side that isn't 'supposed' to win is polling strong.

Then they can dismiss the victory as a result of voter apathy.

One reason I find the left so distasteful is that they consistently seem to deflect responsibility for losses. Very childish of them, if you ask me.

The Eurpean soccer finals are occurring in Portugal today. Pretty much the equivalent of our Super Bowl.

Bad day to schedule an election.

You're right. I haven't voted so far. I have got 3,5 hours left, but I don't know if I will vote. It is pointless.

Statement: "Euro leaders worry about low voter turnout"

Response: The Euro "leaders" only have to look in the mirror. At least then they would know why there is a low turn out.

It is amazing that so many people can't see the simple truth when it is as obvious as a turd floating in a punchbowl. That is how the world gets the Eva Peron's, the bill and hillary clintons, the Howard Deans and the John Kerrys. All they need is a political syndicate to to think for them. Suddenly, the turd is spun into a low fat, low sugar, Baby Ruth. It is often said that over the long run, Democracy is an inherently unstable form of government. If so, that is because people are inherently lazy and more concerned with their immediate short term gratification than their long term survival.

Since there is no EU Constitution in place, the European Parliament is little more than a debating society, like the UN.

It's hard to get charged up for voting for members.

Socialists got smacked across the Continent; in the UK local elections, believe it or not, the Conservative Party did amazingly well! And many pro-liberty and anti-Jihadist parties did amazingly well, also!

Europe is still socialist and pathetically naive to Islam. However, the march to suicide has slowed. And for that, we should all be grateful.

If there is short term hope for Europe - then there is still longterm hope for America!

2010? Bring it on!
