Among the most ungenerous and uninformed obituary comments about President Reagan, I give the cup to Thomas Cronin, the McHugh Professor of American Institutions at Colorado College. With sneering rhetoric, he is quoted in the New York Times obituary that Americans evaluate the greatness of a president on "criteria that are over and above popularity and re-election," criteria that in Mr. Cronin's opinion President Reagan obviously did not fulfill.

Gosh, this disgrees rather strongly with the official White Biography of William Jefferson Clinton. During the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well being than at any time in its history.
Well, so much for your view, Cronin. According to The good that Reagan did for black America, minorities fared BETTER than whites in Reagan's economy and in higher education. Is a historian supposed to give us "their view" or to actually look at history and determine the objective truths?
