I have no problem with a Ronald Reagan Commemorative Coin issued by the U.S. Mint, or other appropriate remembrances of the Great Man. However, don't be surprised if we soon see a flood of "Ronald Reagan Commemorative" items offered for sale from various mail order houses, mass merchandisers, etc. (Much the same way you can pretty much furnish your whole house with Princess Di or Jackie O "collectable" merchandise).

This medal or coin was planned a long time ago and is part of the President series. It's not really a commerative coin but a medal that all Presidents will eventually have made for them.

With shipping the DVD comes to about $26. Seven dollar to ship that bugger, but worth it.

Please don't misunderstand my previous post. I think the coin is a fitting, and appropriate, tribute. Unfortunately, there will be others out there who will see the passing of the Great Man as an opportunity to make some money for themselves.

You Bet!

It's hard when you're up to your armpits in alligators to remember you came here to drain the swamp.

There is a distinct difference between a medal and a coin. A coin is legal tender, a medal is not.

Didn't see a reference to a coin on the US Mint website.

Since I am a gardener, I went out today and purchased the Ronald Reagan rose. The ladies at the greenhouse asked if I was planting in memory and I said I was. They thought that was an AWSOME idea and one of them said she was going to do that too. I will get Nancy next and place her in her rightful spot beside her hubby!! Just my little tribute!!

I correctly guessed that the Ronald Reagan rose is red. Was surprised to see the Nancy Reagan rose is apricot--albeit a beauty.
