U.S. Attorney David Kelley of New York City, who has concentrated on prosecuting rich white-collar criminals, has been assigned to investigate the young Republican aide accused of reading confidential Democratic communications.
Manuel Miranda, who formerly advised Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist on judicial confirmations, was fired after he uncovered Democratic plans to scuttle President Bush's nominations. Sen. Orrin Hatch, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Frist refused to support Miranda.
Miranda, a young father and husband, is currently unemployed. While many conservatives consider him a hero for uncovering the plans revolving around Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Miranda now could face criminal prosecution.
Maybe O'Reilly is right; the powerful DO look out for rach other.
The greatest weakness and disgrace of the Republican Party and the conservative movement is our refusal to stick together. In this we still have something important left learn from our opposition.
Hatch is a self serving POS!!
I truly despised Hatch after he became a slave to the RIAA- they deserve each other anyways.
I don't really think labor unions and the "gay mafia" are really that compatible, for example.
However I do get your point. This season it appears hatred is pulling them together.
Rush is right, because they've lost so much power the "KooKs" are now defining them, ie M. Moore, Soros, Franken, etc.
Personally, I hope Miranda outs a bunch of crooks in the Senate.....from BOTH parties.
The "Two-Party Cartel" is again out to destroy any blow to the commie faction. How can you people in Utah vote for Hatch. Then GW, the so-called conservative allows NO recess appointments & you all here fall for these phonies who have conned you in to believing that you will get conservative judges & that type of agenda only if you vote for them. WAKE UP!
The powerful do look after each other. I am increasingly of the belief that the Senate is bought and paid for. The Senate does not represent the people of the states that elect Senators.
It would make sense to pay for stuffing the ballot boxes of Senators because the Senate has the unique ability to stop any and all legislation on the basis of minority rule. Therefore, power is most economicly bought at the Senate level.
Just look at examples where Senators are democrats in states that vote for a Republican President or Governor. It does not make any sense whatsoever.
Awww ... Orrin Hatch won't let you steal music for your own pleasure without paying for it? Yeah, that's terrible of Orrin. I'm sure he's lost the punk-ass thief vote for good.
I don't pretend to understand the political manuvering, but if we had just a few more Republican senators a number of conservative judges would have been confirmed. I KNOW that we won't get them if we vote for the other guys!
THE MEMOS EXPOSE KENNEDY, BIDEN, and other in actions that could get them kicked out. Miranda in not the crook in this.
Miranda has said that he actually wants to testify.
TALONNEWS.COM has talked about this issue quite a bit.
The memo in question was NOT illegally obtained. It was on an open server and many staffers have talked about that.
In other words...Miranda is one of over 100 folks who saw this and the other memos.
THE MAIN REASON MIRANDA WANTS TO TESTIFY.....the memos in question were between folks like Kennedy, Biden, and Edwards....ABOUT TAKING POLITICAL FAVORS FROM SPECIAL INTERESTS GROUP IN RETURN FOR BLOCKING VOTES ON THE PRESIDENT'S JUDICIAL NOMINEES!
The ever gutless Frist should have never fired Miranda. He should have demanded that the Senate Sgt at Arms quit keeping the memos from investigators. They are locked up in the Sgt at Arms' safe at current.
Really? You state thats as a fact. What are the "goods" and who are the Senators involved?
I will see if I can find articles where Miranda himself refers to memos the rats have.
Like the state I live in. It comes down to money. The Democrats in the Dakotas run on one issue and one issue only - how much money they bring back from Washington.
'Course if strategy was not an alien concept to the senate leadership they could do something about this.
There is no room for TRAITORS in our party.
Hatch is Senator Geary to the Ted Kennedy's Michael Corleone. They've got something nasty on him. He is a traitor to the GOP and to America (on the illegals/DREAM Act issues). Here is an enemy within who is helping the Left in their quest to destroy this nation.
I'm with ya there!
I tell ya....this country is at its best when Congress is not in session.
I wish there were term limits for Congress. I found this org.,
http://www.termlimits.org/
Paul Weyrich, chairman of the Free Congress Foundation and often spoken of as the conservative conscience of the GOP, tells Insight that Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans might fear revealing the outrageous Democratic memoranda lest their own memos come under scrutiny.
This is the only one I could find in a hurry, but I have seen articles where Miranda himself says the GOP fears exposure of their own memos.
Thanks for your effort. I don't like extortion, but I dislike GOP Senators whose corruption opens them to extortion even less.
