A Rocklin nonprofit organization used money it won in environmental lawsuits against businesses to pay off personal credit card debt, taxes and mortgage payments, according to a lawsuit filed Thursday by California Attorney General Bill Lockyer.
The lawsuit calls for the dissolution of California Community Health Advocates, which has not been active recently, and the distribution of its money to further the health causes that the nonprofit originally was formed to advocate.
The attorney general also sued two other groups, Consumer Cause and Consumer Advocacy Group, both of Los Angeles, saying they misused funds that were won in lawsuits enforcing Proposition 65.
The groups had sued businesses for allegedly violating Proposition 65, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, which requires companies to stop polluting water supplies and to post warnings if people may be exposed to cancer-causing chemicals.
That's all that matters with liberals -- especially environmentalists. You can lie, cheat, steal. You can make things up, use fake science and ruin businesses and people's lives, as long as your "heart is in the right place."

I've never seen it said better!
Like when the PETA operatives dumped a load of cow manure at the front door of the World Bank (DC) in 2000.
The rented dumptruck which they abandoned at the scene was towed and impounded to the tune of several hundred $$$. The rental store owner paid the DC impound fees to get his truck back, and when he subsequently tried to charge the fees to the PETA credit card, discovered they had used a secured credit card with just barely enough credit to rent the truck.
He never got his money back from PETA or anyone else.
Good post and by the way, isn't it stunning how all this GovernMental EnvironMental crap seems to not register with so many so-called Conservatives? Even here on FR!
It just knocks my socks off!!! Like this Schwarzenegger proposal for the massive Sierra-Nevada Conservacancy! It's just unbelievable!!! It flies on below the radar, with everyotherone that hears about it just yawning... and moving on to a more entertaining thread... WHEW!!!
