I was talking to Eaker (AKA as Breaker) and asked him what he thought after the Garand exploded. He said, "damn I broke El Roy's Rifle." The "boy" has his priorities right! LOL
You know, everything was kind of fuzzy about that time, but I remember Eaker looking at that rifle in pieces lying there on the bench and he started apologizing!
Now this guy has a piece of metal in his chest and he's bleeding like a stuck hog and he's saying, "DAMN! El Roy, I'm sorry........."
