Hey, I like alot of that Maranatha music too... as well as the old hymns.

Maranatha music is for those who want to be entertained. It came in with congregational applause, poor manners and sloppy dress during the pentecostal movement of the sixties. Groups of folksingers crowd the pulpit and overwhelm the congregation. No worship in that.Fundamentalists sold out and bought into it.
Anything to get a crowd on Sundays.
Evidently devout, reverent congregational singing is for "old fogies." That is one reason I left the local church to the "contemporary" crowd. Didn't want to be "judgemental".
