You're the first person I've heard from that liked the Arch Deluxe. I figured that it was considered a flop because of its target audience was adults, and unless you have your own kids to take to McD's, you avoid everything but the drive through.

I'm with you all the way on bacon! Now, if we could only get them to make the fries with beef fat they way they used to...

To clarify, I loved the McDLT. I thought the Arch Deluxe was OK, better than most of their other burgers. The Big Xtra has most of the same stuff on a regular bun and is better, IMO.

Way ditto on the fries cooked in beef fat. In my opinion, beef tallow is the only thing to cook proper fries in, or even McDonald's shoestrings. There's a place I go several times whenever I'm down home that does seafood and chips, and they use beef tallow/shortening in their fryers, and I'm sure that's a major part of why their food is so good, that and the fact that they know how to use them, which seems to be increasingly rare. http://www.johnslunch.com/ - it's a hole in the wall, but it's right some good, let me tell ya boy.
