Texas is having to cut back on housing subsidies also --- or at least isn't going to increase them so of course we're getting all these liberal hardship sob stories showing up --- some poor person -- maybe 50 years old --- not getting more than $400 housing subsidies a month, plus a $600 monthly check from the government, plus food stamps, plus all the free health care they could want.... Maybe it's time some of the so-called poor double up in an apartment --- or find an apartment that doesn't cost much more than $400 a month, or get a job.

I was kind of shocked to find that the housing subsidies are $400 average --- to me that seems pretty high --- and maybe the reason some of the crappy apartments are so expensive to live in. Maybe rents would come down a bit if the landlords weren't so heavily subsidized.
