Blackmuslim,

I have wanted to ask a question to a Muslim since Sept 11 01, perhaps you can answer it for me. As I recall the Pope, Russia, and even China (arguably our worst enemy of the time) all expressed condolences, and outrage over the atrocities of that day within 48 hours. The first Muslim of stature to say anything even hinting that they were not pleased with the events was months later. Now for the question: If Muslims do not Condemn, and stop those among them who are radicals, how can they expect us to believe they do not support them?

In the words of my father “If you care about your belongings, Clean your own house”.

Some do, but few. An interesting web site (there aren't many) Islam in Alaska. I notice they now note This website has NOT been updated since November of '03 due to a family crisis . The last time I looked, probably a few months ago, I'm certain the reason given was strife in the local Muslim community (Anchorage). Anyway, Anchorage Freepers have some peaceful Muslims in their midst, and some not so peaceful. Wish I could find you more examples.

That's an urban legend:

Kingdom condemns attacks on United States

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has condemned the "regrettable and inhuman bombings and attacks" which took place today at the World Trade Center in Manhattan, New York, and the Pentagon building in Washington DC. An official statement issued today said that Saudi Arabia strongly condemns such acts, which contravene all religious values and human civilized concepts; and extends sincere condolences to the families of the victims, to U.S. President George W. Bush and to the U.S. people in general. The statement stressed the Kingdom's steadfast position condemning all forms of terrorism, and its ongoing cooperation with the international community to combat it.

Embassy of Jordan in Washington, D.C. strongly condemns heinous attacks against U.S.

The Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in Washington D.C. strongly condemns the vicious, immoral and inhumane terrorist attacks against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on the morning of September 11th 2001. The Embassy expresses its deep sorrow for the innocent victims who perished in these heinous and senseless attacks and extends its condolences to the bereaved families and friends.

The people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan stands strongly by the people of the United States of America in these very difficult and sad times.

The leaders of Egypt, Pakistan, Syria, the Palestinian Authority, Libya, snd Iran also immediately condemned the attacks.

-Eric
