TEL AVIV, Israel, June 11 (UPI) -- A Palestinian couple frustrated over their inability to marry approached Israeli lines hoping to be shot together, it was reported Friday.
Soldiers suspected the couple were not militants and held their fire, the Yediot Aharonot newspaper said on its Web site.
The couple in their late 20s have been friends for six years and upon questioning, told officials they could not marry because of a dispute between their families, a military source told United Press International. They decided suicide was their only option.
They approached the Kfar Darom settlement early Wednesday. The woman dropped her bag when soldiers approached and hugged the man when soldiers pointed their guns at them. Soldiers asked the woman to move aside so they could search the man, but she would not let go of him until shots were fired in the air.
After searching and questioning the pair, the army released them, confident they were not affiliated with any terrorist organizations.

No. There are no countries today that are predominantly Christian calling for the extermination of non Christians for being of some other faith. In much of the Islamic world, the wahabi jihadists are looked at as heroes for the attack on America on 9/11. Americs, has responded to these acts of war with remarkable constraint. The differenve is that in much of the Islamic world, approval is given to nearly any muslim who says he is waging a jihad, and in the rest of the world, mass murder is mass murder, regardless of who did it. I analyzed the five most holy Islamic books and spent two years studying Muhammad and his message. What I found was bone chilling. The depiction of the prophet by the most revered Muslim sources is horrendous. Nearly every page reveals behavior that is immoral, criminal, and violent. The five oldest and most trusted Islamic sources don’t portray Muhammad as a great and godly man. They reveal that he was a thief, liar, assassin, mass murderer, terrorist, warmonger, and an unrestrained sexual pervert engaged in pedophilia, incest, and rape. He authorized deception, assassinations, torture, slavery, and genocide. He was a pirate, not a prophet. According to the Hadith and the Qur’an, Muhammad and his henchmen plundered their way to power and prosperity.
