The behavior of S. Korean government is despicable. They are, in effect, collaborating with N. Koreans for a major coverup. In spite of this, they still have the nerve to say that they are 'moderate conservative.' Yeah, right! If that is the case, Hitlery is a Republican, too!

But North Korea's socialism with free health care, jobs and education for all is what the left in America see as a just society...

This is a frightening commentary on the South Korean government's attitude towards North Korean refugees. It sounds like the BBC has vetted him and thinks him credible. And the left wing intellectuals complained about W's term, "Axis of Evil."

I had a hunch that South Korea was covering for the North in order to make a "reconcilliation" more likely. Of course, this is but the appearance of reconcilliation, more akin to surrender. One has to wonder if South Korea's current leadership has tyrannical ambitions of their own or if they are merely so craven to show progress to the public for political reasons. One thus has the choice between covert evil and a cover for incompetence in the face of a deadly foe.

Not a nice set of options. It would seem that the South Korean public is tiring of vigilance in the face of evil by denying the reality of that evil.

No excuse for their behavoir, but they feel it's this or else.

To die slowly in slavery or die fighting isn't a hard choice. Fearing that choice, they lie to themselves in order to make slow death by slavery more palatable. The leadership even persecutes those who might pop the bubble by revealing the truth.

It doesn't say much for their character.

Pro-North left try to package themselves as peacemaker, a new better way, while branding the conservatives as backward corrupt warmongers. With tree major TV networks stacked with pro-North people, nonstop media barrage brainwashed minds of gullible younger generation in their favor.

IOW, the same formula as is being used here. Gosh, what a surprise.

Antonio Gramsci laughs in his grave.

Last month, it was awarded ' the 2004 documentary award of the year' by Amnesty International.

What, they didn't give the award to Michael Moore? I'm sure many Hollywood people are making angry phone calls and there's some 'splainin' to do.

I just went to "futureKorea" and got this
¡°³ª´Â ÝÁ ÈÇлýü½ÇÇè¿¡ Âü¿©Çß´Ù¡± Á¤ºÎ, ºÏÇÑ »ýü½ÇÇè »ç½Ç ÇÔ±¸·É¡¤ Å»ºÏ¹Î Á¤¾¾ Ãâ±¹ ÀúÁöÁ¶Ä¡
all over the page.

I've seen this before but never knew how to 'translate it.

Anyway, I was in S. Korea from '65 - '67 as a GI in the 51st Sig Bn.

I was 17 and remember enjoying being there. The S Koreans were (to me, anyway) very friendly and happy for our presence there.

Granted, I was a kid and not at all political nor worldly-wise, but that is my recollection.

During later years, I remember seeing student protests demanding the US to get out, and now with Pres. Bush's directive to transfer troops from S. Korea to the Middle East, and what seems to be a protestation (by the S Koreans) against that move ... I'm just a little confused about what the S Koreans want.

Back to "futurekorea" ....

What is that 'language' ... why is something published in such heiroglyphic phorm (intentional typo ... /8^), and how can it be translated?

Is it a reliable source?

Somebody should make a film of this guy and other defectors, and call it "Northern Exposure." Anybody know any moose jokes?

Re #16

Apparently your computer can only handle alphabets. Those words are written in Korean script. You will get the same result if you try Chinese sites.:)

S. Korea is overrun by one-time pro-North anti-government lefties who were masquerading as pro-democracy activists. They managed to brainwashed younger generation with their views, which are anti-American, pro-N. Korea, anti-business, and anti-competition. Gullible younger generation is in for really rude awakening, which would hit soon.

S. Korea operates on thin margin. It is not U.S.A.. No thick cushion of wealth, nor two oceans that separates U.S.A from her enemies. When S. Korea strays, the damage will come fast and hard.

The first one died in three and a half hours, while the second one in two and a half hours.

No disrespect to the dead guys, but as chemical weapons go this stuff was pre WWI junk.
