I cannot figure out if this is a commentary thread where we remark upon what we see and hear. That is what we have always done in the past.
Or if this is a memorial thread. If it's a memorial thread, someone needs to set the ground rules at the beginning of the thread where we will only say things like "there is Clinton", "good speech by Bush", etc.
Personally, I don't know what purpose the second option would serve, but the starter of the thread can choose the rules I guess and those of us who don't like them can start another thread.
This arguing incessantly about who says what is ridiculous and seems to me demeans President Reagan more than any commentary on whether Clinton is asleep or not does.
I second that. I just ignore the Clinton bashing if I don't feel like joining.
Bump.
This is a commentary thread, where people comment on what they see happening during a live event - in this case, this is a thread to comment upon what we are seeing occuring at the Reagan memorial service. Or, at least I thought it was. Now I'm not so sure since all the self-appointed Thread Police are out.
I look at it this way - while I don't care about the Clinton's antics at this event, others do, and I am free to ignore their comments if I want. I am also free to make comments about their comments and observations if I want (as long as I stay within forum posting guidelines).
If people don't like the idea of a free and open commentary and debate on a thread that has that specific purpose, too bad.
Now I'm done.
This is a unique live thread.
Different from all that have preceded it.
Different protocol should be in place,
It's the former. That's what a live thread is. Ignore the control freaks.
