I'm just old enough to remember the school drills, the '80 and '84 Olympics, anad the other issues with Communist USSR. I bet he was too busy watching other cartoons instead of GI Joe growing up.
Let's hope he turns conservative at some point.

You know, today is one of those days (every day is but today even more so) that we have to thank God that Gore isn't president. Can't imagine the indignity of Gore giving the eulogy.

I missed the Fords on Larry King. I never watch CNN so don't take notice of who is going to be on. I remember during the convention of 2000, that President Ford had to be taken from the convention center. I believe he had had a mild stroke at that time.

Now, you just KNOW that the 'toons will be scowling through President Bush's speaking. Please be ready for a screen capture. I'm sure ol' Registered will find it useful...

In some countries white is the official color of mourning.

I saw Rumsfeld there in one of the angle shots.

I think this funeral contrasted against the way the arab world has their "in the street funeral processions" really, really, demonstrates the significant differences in our cultures. Marvelous point.

You know, after reflecting upon it. I'm GLAD that Chirac stayed home....there's enough hypocrisy with the Clintons, the Carters, and others in attendance..

Wonder why Tony Blair is seated so far back? I wish he were up there with Gorby, Thatcher, Mulroney and Charles.
Protocol. Invited guests of the Reagans ahead of heads of state ahead of heads of goevernment (like PM Blair).

Yeah... today, any color really is appopriate (except for maybe red)
But officially, black, white, and light pastels are appropriate.

My sister wore all white to her 8 year old daughter's funeral. It was like, I dunno, spitting in the face of Death.
The Catholic funeral liturgy is celebrated in white vestments, a color of hope and resurrection.
