I was a big Danforth fan when I was a little kid BECAUSE he was an Episcopal Priest. I guess it doesn't mean as much as it used to these days.

Agreed. I like to refer to them as Bush the Elder and Bush the younger, seems very statesman like to categorize them as such.
Bush the Elder was touched by the loss of a great friend and contemporary and he broke up. Bush the Younger was touched by the loss of someone he looked up to and respected. Both by word and delivery they let their respect come through in their eulogies. Fine, fine men.

Agreed.
They had a Rabbi, but he even said BIBLE, not Torah or something like that.
Hopefully they won't have an imam, but I don't believe they will.
Unapologetically Christian.....at a national funeral.
Wonderful.

So far the entire service has been great like RR. Now John Newtons classic.

I loved the Bible verse he used about him "seeing through a glass darkly, but no face to face"

I'm just tuning in and scanning the thread. Sounds like the great Margaret Thatcher's recorded message was very powerful! I can hardly wait to watch a replay. Did she speak a few live words as well?

What is with this Danforth dude? He needs to stop politicizing this, talking about the war. It's a disgrace to have this man presiding at Reagan's funeral. War is part of the darkness.
On the contrary, Danforth was the perfect choice, and his words were exactly what we needed to hear.

I never realized all this week, but in this angle view of the camera...Patti looks exactly like her mother.
