The Battle Hymn as it SHOULD be sung

I assume you refer to this verse, so often softened by the politically correct:

As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, While God is marching on.

Yes. The Hip and Aware ECUSA has redacted the Third Stanza in some cases. In others, they have changed "die to make men free" to "live to make men free", which is rather metrosexual of them, don't you think?

Sheesh, some day I'm going to make the decision to become a Roman Catholic and I will never look back. It all started back in the Seventies (...of course....).

After all, you wouldn't just want to go out and die for something higher than yourself, would you?

Be Seeing You,

Chris

The Anthem "O Love of God" will be sung to the tune "Jerusalem." That is the tune played at the end of "Chariots of Fire." Not only are the words deeply inspirational and penned by a good Scottish Presbyterian, but the tune is evocative of the U.K., our closest ally.
